I’ve found Weatherbug always has the most accurate weather information in my area. That’s why I was so disappointed when they let their Mac app become obsolete a few years ago. I reluctantly ended up switching to Degrees, but I never really liked it enough to purchase the pro version, and I’ve spent money on a few different weather apps for iPhone and Windows Phone. I’m thrilled that Weatherbug has finally come out with a new app, and even more thrilled at the quality and level of features. It’s exactly what I’ve always wanted functionally and aesthetically, and it uses Weatherbug’s awesome network to deliver accurate, current weather information. The only feature I’d really like to see added is the option to show just the degrees without the little icon. It takes up two icons’ worth of horizontal space in the menu bar, and for those of us with smaller screens that can be extremely limited real estate. Oh, and I know people are complaining about them taking out the stupid cricket sound. That’s probably why the star rating is way lower than it should be. All I want to say is, I wholehartedly agree with their decision. It was on by default and I came across multiple people who had installed it and did not know what was making that awful sound in their house every time it rained. Please, if you decide to add that sound back in, do not have it enabled by default. Thanks Weatherbug, for stepping up to the plate and creating an excellent weather solution for Mac. I’m really anxious to see what you offer in the paid space!
