App Uses Far Too Much CPU at Idle

I tried Weatherbug and observed with iStat that it is consistently using 2.7% CPU and fluctuating at times higher than this while idle in the menu bar. I am not interacting wiith it in any way while it does this. I consider this to be unacceptable for an app such as this. I undestand that it needs to update the displayed temp reading at intervals but this in no way justifies that level of resource consumption. This should have been observed and corrected in quality assurance testing before release.

This is otherwise a nice little app that displays the most important info I would want with one click. What another reviewer complains about here regarding limited information available is not actually correct. Another click on one of the major areas of the drop down menu bar display opens your default browser to a Weatherbug web page with more relevant detail and other information of interest to those who enjoy keeping an eye on the weather. Considering this app costs zero, this approach to providing more information seems entirely reasonable to me.

I’ll give this three stars because the app itself is nice and the price sure is right. I won’t give it more than that because of the excessive resource usage issue which needs to be corrected.
